Disappointment over World’s Best Bar winner Dandelyan’s closure has changed to glee at the opening of its successor, Lyaness. Ryan ‘Mr Lyan’ Chetiyawardana is still at the helm, and the Sea Containers London location remains true. A design makeover features electric blue accents, while the marble bar remains. The menu sees cocktails built around seven key ingredients: ‘Purple Pineapple’, ‘Old Fashioned Whisky’, ‘King Monkey Nut’, ‘Infinite Banana’, ‘ONYX’, ‘Ultra Raspberry’, and ‘Aromatised Milk Wine’. Each is a composite of ingredients, designed to elevate one flavour: ‘King Monkey Nut’, for example, takes the humble peanut to new heights.
